Founder
Nick Young leads the personal training team at Just Perform with 6 years of experience. His certification is NASM Certified Personal Trainer, and he specializes in bodybuilding, powerlifting and general strength.
Nick wasn’t always fit. In fourth grade, he was at his all-time heaviest–around 150lbs at 4’10”. One day, he overheard a friend say, “If you do 50 sit-ups every night, you’ll lose weight.” It lit a fire within him that allowed me to drop 20lbs in the first few months. He became obsessed with the process and wanted to lose weight.
He was doing whatever it took to make it happen.
That led to unhealthy habits–going to bed hungry at night and punishing himself with exercise.
During middle school, Nick was introduced to the barbell. His initial drive to lift weights was to improve his performance in baseball. He began with the stereotypical workouts most people do when they start in the gym. Workouts consisted of a lot of push-ups, bicep curls, skull crushers, rows, and squats.
After a couple of months of winging it, Nick found inspiration on YouTube, Bodybuilding.com, and T-Nation forums, reading and researching anything and everything he could to feed his obsession with fitness.
After being cut from the baseball team in high school, Nick started focusing only on lifting and nutrition. Fitness was his passion, and he decided that ultimately, his career path.
Now, Nick has successfully opened his gym, Just Perform Athletic Club, and has numerous successful clients from Just Perform Training.
His training is more than just building muscle and getting stronger. He is inspired by Mike Rashid, a very successful fitness entrepreneur, who once said, “What we do in the gym translates into life. The tough sessions we do inside the gym prepare us to handle the difficult times in everyday life, so that when we are presented with adversity, we’re better equipped to handle it.”

Dana Washburn is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer with an additional certification specializing in women’s fitness health at Just Perform Athletic Club.
Dana embarked on her own personal journey in 2019. Under the training guidance of Nick Young, she lost 110 pounds and reclaimed her health. Struggling with obesity, an addiction to food, and relying on multiple medications, she understands firsthand the challenges of overcoming physical and emotional obstacles.
In 2024, Dana joined the team at Just Perform Athletic Club, assisting Nick with the grand opening and then in 2025, she made the bold decision to walk away from her fulfilling career of 36 years as a dental hygienist to join the team at Just Perform Athletic Club. She is passionate about women’s health and helping others achieve their own fitness and healthy lifestyle goals. Her own personal journey from self-doubt to empowerment fuels her commitment to inspire and guide her clients every step of the way.

How Coaching Works
Initial consultation
Upon inquiry, we will schedule a time and date for your initial personal training consultation call. During this call, we’ll discuss your short- and long-term fitness goals, review your past training experience, and get to know each other better to determine if we’re the right fit for your personalized training program.
Build Out
After the initial personal training consultation is complete, if we’re a good fit to work together, we will begin designing your customized training program based on all the information gathered during our call. This initial training block serves as the foundation, which we will build upon throughout our time working together to help you achieve your fitness goals.
Dynamic Programming
You will have direct access to your certified personal trainer via your preferred communication method for any questions, guidance, or feedback. Prompt support and a response within 24 hours is guaranteed to keep your personal training program on track and help you achieve your fitness goals efficiently.
Coaching Sessions & Check-Ins
We will meet regularly to review all aspects of your training and nutrition. These sessions allow us to refine your technique, monitor fatigue, assess your nutrition needs, and guide your training execution, ensuring you progress safely and effectively. Whether your focus is strength training, powerlifting, or overall wellness care, this personalized approach helps you become the best lifter and athlete you can be.
