Congratulations on taking the initiative to make a change towards bettering your health. It takes a lot of courage to acknowledge that you need to make a change and it takes even more courage to take action.
Below I have my biggest tips, tricks, and words of wisdom to keep in mind as you tackle your fitness goals…
- Set a reasonable deadline then add a couple months to that in order to give yourself a buffer. 
- Don’t start by throwing the whole toolbox at yourself from the beginning. Start with just the screwdriver at first. 
- Make this sustainable. As you’re going to have to exercise and eat well for the rest of your life in order to maintain your goal once you get there. 
- Start walking more. Park a little further from the grocery store, or walk around the house while talking on the phone. 
- Drink more water. Start your day with 20 - 30 ounces of water everyday. 
- Eat veggies with every meal. Veggies will keep you full and provide you with vital micronutrients your body needs. 
- Little changes go a long ways when starting out. 
- Don’t expect perfection from yourself. Its okay to mess up, but make sure to get back on track at the next meal. 
- Consistency is the secret ingredient. 
- Incorporate some form of resistance training into your routine. 
- Sleep is very important. 7 - 9 hours a night if all possible. 
- Last but definitely not least is to have some confidence in yourself. You can do this!
